The Stony Form is the first available transformation in the sequel game Banjo-Tooie, found within Mayahem Temple after players provide a Glowbo to Humba Wumba at her wigwam in the Jade Snake Grove area. A Glowbo can be found near Humba Wumba’s wigwam and must be thrown into the magic pool before players can enter to initiate the transformation process. Once transformed, Banjo takes on the appearance of a small, rock-like creature that retains his characteristic blue backpack and yellow shorts while gaining the attributes of the indigenous Stony race that inhabits Mayahem Temple. The transformation grants the ability to communicate with other Stonies scattered throughout the world, who appear as small, seemingly featureless rocks until closer inspection reveals their living nature complete with arms, legs, eyes, and decorative headpieces. These Stony characters provide helpful information about the world’s secrets, collectible locations, and navigation tips that prove essential for comprehensive exploration of the temple’s various areas. The primary application involves gaining entry to the Mayan Kickball Tournament within the Kickball Stadium, where Officer Unogopaz serves as the gatekeeper who only permits Stony participants to enter the competition. The tournament consists of three rounds including Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals, each featuring different ball types and increasingly challenging enemies. Players must kick yellow balls worth two points into their own goal while avoiding red balls that subtract one point, with the Finals introducing black bomb balls that temporarily stun enemies when struck. The Stony form features a shoulder bash attack executed for both combat purposes against enemies and advantages during kickball matches, allowing players to knock balls away from opponents or steal possession during gameplay. The Stoney Form’s size enables access to narrow passageways and confined spaces throughout the world that remain inaccessible to Banjo and Kazooie in their normal forms, including a small hole behind the world entrance that holds an Extra Honeycomb. Unlike most other transformations in Banjo-Tooie, the Stony Form can traverse between different worlds while maintaining its state, making it essential for participating in the Colosseum Kickball Tournament located in Hailfire Peaks. This inter-world mobility allows players to access both kickball venues in Banjo-Tooie without requiring re-transformation, though Chief Bloatazin has the ability to recognize Banjo and Kazooie’s disguise despite the transformation’s effectiveness with other characters throughout the adventure.
