The Van Form is the third available transformation in Banjo-Tooie, found within Witchyworld after players provide a Glowbo to Humba Wumba at her wigwam located in the Western Zone atop a small hill accessed by backflipping onto the left door near the Crazy Castle entrance, jumping to the ledge, grip grabbing across, and climbing the structure to reach the wigwam. A Glowbo can be found inside Humba Wumba’s wigwam in plain sight next to her and must be thrown into the pool before players can initiate the process. Once transformed, Banjo takes on the appearance of a gray armored bank van that completely eliminates his health bar while gaining complete invulnerability to all forms of damage and the ability to defeat enemies by ramming into them. The transformation grants access to special Van doors scattered throughout Witchyworld by using the horn with the B button, which opens these distinctive doors marked with van symbols. These Van door abilities prove essential for accessing specific collectibles within the world, including a Jinjo trapped behind a Van door in Area 51, a Treble Clef located behind a Van door in the Space Zone past the Star Spinner, and a Cheato Page positioned behind a door within the Inferno. The primary gameplay application involves the built-in currency system that allows payment for two money-requiring attractions without requiring players to collect coins separately, specifically enabling access to the Dodgem Dome challenge and the Inferno ride where players must use the Split-up pads to complete tasks. The Van transformation excels at collecting the four tickets required for Big Top entry by running over and defeating the Fruity slot machines surrounding the tent, which prove difficult to damage through conventional attacks but fall instantly to the Van’s ramming capabilities. Also, it features complete immunity to environmental hazards and enemy attacks throughout Witchyworld, though it remains vulnerable to falling into pits and cannot collect honeycombs that drop from enemies due to its lack of a health system. While the Van Form cannot normally encounter water within Witchyworld, programming analysis reveals that it possesses the ability to swim as if it were Banjo when taken to water areas through unconventional means. Unlike other transformations in Banjo-Tooie, it remains confined to Witchyworld and cannot traverse between different worlds while maintaining its transformed state, though its specialized abilities make it indispensable for accessing the theme park’s restricted areas and completing its challenges. Within Banjoland, the world in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, a model of the Van Form appears on crates near other nostalgic transformation references, serving as a commemorative tribute to the memorable vehicle-based gameplay mechanics from Banjo-Tooie.
