Bumblebee Form

The Bee Form is the fifth transformation available in Banjo-Kazooie, accessed within Click Clock Wood after players provide Mumbo with twenty-five Mumbo Tokens, making it the most expensive transformation in the game. It operates during the Spring season, as Mumbo refuses to perform his magic during other seasons due to various excuses like excessive heat in Summer, leaf-raking duties in Autumn, and vacation time in Winter when a rude beehive occupies his hut. The Bee Form provides unlimited flight capabilities without requiring Red Feathers or Flight Pads, activated by pressing the A button during a mid-jump, with B button controls for ascending higher and holding B for increased flying speed. When entering water, the Bee automatically begins flying, while also providing immunity to the dangerous thicket areas surrounding Mumbo Jumbo’s Skull and protection from Snarebear attacks. The Bee Form enables access to Zubba’s Hive for collecting the Pink Jinjo, which represents spring flowers among the seasonal color-coded Jinjos throughout Click Clock Wood. Players can grab a Jiggy from the highest platform atop the central tree, either by flying there as the Bee in Spring or using Flight Pads in Winter. The transformation automatically expires when the Banjo and Kazooie attempt to enter the Summer, Autumn or Winter sections of Click Clock Wood, making it the only transformation whose effectiveness diminishes within its native world. Through glitches, players can extend the transformation’s range using Warp Cauldrons under the Click Clock Wood lobby, enabling exploration of Gruntilda’s Lair while maintaining immunity to environmental hazards like the hot sands of Gobi’s Valley.

In Banjo-Tooie, the Bee Form serves as the native transformation of Cloud Cuckooland, provided by Humba Wumba rather than Mumbo Jumbo after players present her with a Glowbo creature and jump into her magical pink pool. The transformation incorporates significant enhancements beyond its original flight capabilities, now featuring a powerful stinger attack activated with the Z button, dealing damage equivalent to Blue Eggs and serving as the exclusive method for destroying the four Eyeballus Jiggium Plants that protect one of Gruntilda’s golden Jiggies throughout the world. When flying, players can fire black stingers at a substantially faster rate than when grounded, while faster flight speeds generate blue spark trails behind the Bee. Additionally, the transformation can perform a pseudo-Beak Bomb attack while airborne by holding the B button to travel at increased velocity. The transformation provides exclusive access to the Zubba’s Nest located atop Cloud Cuckooland’s central mountain, requiring Banjo and Kazooie to shoot a target twenty times within ten seconds to gain entry. Within Zubba’s Nest, players must complete a minigame where shooting different colored Zubbas yields varying point values, with red Zubbas worth one point, green Zubbas worth two points, and blue Zubbas worth three points, requiring 60 points to receive a Jiggy while 40 points rewards a Cheato Page. The Bee transformation also proves essential for accessing Cloud Cuckooland’s surreal floating platforms and navigating the world’s bizarre collection of giant toys and objects, including the cheese wedge, jelly castle, and trash can that characterize this fantastical realm suspended high above the Isle O’ Hags.
