Mumbo Crates

Mumbo Crates are small pink boxes in Showdown Town, the main hub in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. These crates have Mumbo Jumbo’s skull icon on them and contain different vehicle parts for Banjo and Kazooie. Some parts are common, others are rare and can only be found in crates that are hard to reach. Some of these crates are guarded by ghost pigs. To get these crates, players need to get a Kazooie-like Horn by defeating Gruntilda Winkybunion in the Terrarium of Terror. Once you have the horn, you can use it to get rid of the ghosts and grab the crates with Kazooie’s Magic Wrench. Besides regular Mumbo Crates, players can find Stop ‘n’ Swop crates in Showdown Town after collecting certain items in the Xbox Live Arcade version of Banjo Kazooie. These crates are color-coded depending on what’s inside and have special parts such as Fuzzy Dice. Most of these vehicle parts can only be found once, except for the flag which you can get twice. The game gives hints about where these crates are, but finding them usually takes a lot of exploring. Note that some vehicle parts can’t be gotten in normal gameplay and are only used in certain challenges. These include Gruntilda’s Dingpot seat, the three spheres in Critics Say No, Pikelet’s police seat in A Sight for Poor Eyes, and the ignited torch in The Jiggosseum Torch.
