Nabnut

Nabnut, a rotund and ravenous red squirrel, made his first debut appearance in the video game Banjo-Kazooie. He can be found residing in the side of the huge tree situated in the game’s ninth world called Click Clock Wood. Banjo and Kazooie’s first interaction with him takes place during spring, where he is discovered indulging in a vast pile of Acorns that he had previously set aside for the winter months. During the summer season, Nabnut has consumed the entire supply and is left severely bloated, barely able to move. As autumn arrives, Nabnut realizes his mistake and seeks the assistance of Banjo and Kazooie to collect six additional acorns from the surrounding area to prepare for the coming winter. Once the duo successfully gathers the Acorn Buckets, he rewards them with a Jiggy. Players can find the Acorn Buckets in various locations, including on a shelf inside Nabnut’s Home, in a small room submerged with water, on the platform to the right of Nabnut’s Home, down a slope that leads off the platform, on a platform to the left of Nabnut’s House and in the air where Banjo and Kazooie must jump off and land on a path, which awards two Acorn Buckets. In winter season, players can find Nabnut sleeping soundly in his bed next to a pink squirrel named Mrs. Nabnut, whose name is only mentioned in Scribes. Interestingly, she is the only character who is not featured in the character parade at the end of the game. During a Sound Challenge in Grunty’s Furnace Fun, players can hear Nabnut’s voice, where three options are given to them, including Gnawty the Beaver, Conker the Squirrel and “Nabnut the Squirrel.
