Account Settings

Account Settings keeps the private side of your BanjoComet account in one place, and nothing on this page is visible to other members. Your email address is used only for signing in, password recovery, confirmation messages and the notifications you enable. To change it, enter your current password and the new address; a confirmation link is sent to both addresses, and until the change is confirmed you continue to sign in with your current one. A new password needs at least 12 characters and should not be used on any other website, and a passphrase of several unrelated words is both strong and easy to remember. Changing your password signs you out of every device, including this one, so that any session opened with the old password ends immediately. Signing out on this device ends only the session in this browser, while signing out everywhere ends every active session, which is useful after using a shared or public computer. Your account data can be downloaded as a JSON file containing your account identifier and email address, your public profile, every comment you have written, the Jiggies you have awarded, your favourites, reports, notifications and notification preferences; keep it private, because it contains your email address. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, uploaded images, comments, Musical Notes, Jiggies and T.T. Trophies and cannot be undone. After you enter your current password, a confirmation link is sent to your registered email address, and your account stays active until you confirm. Your username, avatar, banner and public details are edited on the Edit Profile page.
