The Blamphibian Golf Course Owner runs Black Hole in One, a space-themed golf attraction in Yooka-Laylee's Galleon Galaxy. He is a yellow, frog-like character with prominent eyes and a broad mouth, dressed in a purple collared top and a lime-green-and-purple checked golf cap. A golf ball and coloured tees decorate the cap, and he carries a club while standing behind the reception counter. His elaborate manners and concern for appropriate clothing give the attraction the air of an exclusive golf club, although his introduction quickly offends Laylee. The duo can win a Pagie by guiding an oversized golden ball through the course within its time limit. Yooka-Replaylee names the attendant Frogg Shott and substantially changes his attraction, replacing the original single-ball round with a course that supplies many smaller balls. In both versions, he provides the character encounter at the entrance to a much larger area containing golf obstacles and additional collectibles.
The Owner of Black Hole in One
The original Black Hole in One becomes available after Galleon Galaxy has been expanded. This fifth Grand Tome requires 12 Pagies to enter and another 15 to reveal its expanded areas. Look for the rounded golf-course building near the island with the Blamphibian Recruiter's strength machine, then enter its doorway in the duo's normal form. The reception room contains a curved counter, cyan-lit circular windows, golf equipment and star-patterned decoration. The Owner waits behind the desk, with the entrance to the course nearby. Four Quills are found around this lobby and another four outside the building. Those pickups contribute to the world's Quill total independently of the golf prize. The attraction shares its frog-like host's species with the Recruiter and the Star Fishing Angler, but each character has a different role. Playing golf does not contribute points towards the Angler's record or satisfy the Recruiter's test of strength.
The Owner’s Welcome and Rules
The Owner initially greets both visitors as gentlemen. Laylee corrects him, pointing out that the party consists of a lady and a gentleman, but his apology adds an insult about her nose. Her response threatens to turn the encounter into toad in the hole rather than a civilised round of space golf. He continues with his explanation of the attraction's rules: tee off with a forceful swing, transport the ball to the hole before time expires and maintain an appropriate standard of dress. Reptile Rush is his recommended way to launch the ball. Trowzer sells that move in Capital Cashino for 80 Quills in the original game. The final rule threatens to have security dispose of visitors who fail the dress code, reinforcing the contrast between the Owner's polite presentation and his unfriendly remarks. The conversation does not require the player to buy an outfit before entering the course. Speaking again before playing repeats the advice about a strong opening shot.
Starting the Original Golf Round
Leave reception for the course and approach the golden golf ball on its raised starting position. Knock it off the pedestal to begin the round and its two-minute-thirty-second countdown. Reptile Rush provides a forceful tee-off, after which the duo can keep the ball moving by pushing against it and using attacks when a stronger nudge is useful. The objective is to guide this same ball to the hole at the lower end of the course before the clock runs out. A powerful shot is helpful on a ramp but can also send the ball over an edge, so line up each approach before striking it. The timed route contains enemies capable of interfering with the duo or their ball. Clearing troublesome opponents before starting can make the later attempt easier. Falling off the course or losing the ball can force the round to reset, and an expired timer means trying again. The challenge is about controlling the ball through an obstacle course rather than achieving a particular number of conventional golf strokes.
Gates, Ramps and the Windmill
The first part of the original course sends the ball down slopes and across curved ramps marked with directional arrows. Keep close enough to correct its path as it reaches the next landing. Farther along, three sleeping totems control gates blocking the route. Use Laylee's Sonar Shot to wake them and push the ball through the opened passages before the totems fall asleep again. Trowzer sells Sonar Shot in Tribalstack Tropics for 30 Quills if it has not already been learned. Beyond the gates, guide the ball through the opening beneath a rotating windmill. Wait for a clear gap rather than driving it repeatedly into the moving sails. A button on top of the windmill can stop its rotation, offering another way to prepare the passage with Flappy Flight. Once through, follow the final descending section, steer around the rocks near the bend and push the ball into the flagged hole. Managing the gates and windmill promptly matters because the original countdown continues while these obstacles are being dealt with.
The Golf Prize and Hidden Ghost Writer
Completing the original course makes the Owner announce a winner and invite the duo to collect their prize on the way out. A switch beside the transport tube at the end opens a quick route back to reception, where the golf Pagie can be collected. The attraction can be played again, but the one-time prize is not awarded repeatedly. There is also a separate red Ghost Writer hidden in the UFO-like structure suspended high above the course. Use Flappy Flight to reach the top of this structure and drop through the opening into its interior. Dodge the ghost's charge, then counterattack while it is vulnerable to capture it. A circulating fan can make keeping clear of the charge more awkward. Capturing this ghost contributes to the world's five-Ghost-Writer reward, rather than providing another golf win. Likewise, a Pagie awarded for collecting all 200 original Galleon Galaxy Quills may appear during a visit to the lobby if its Quills complete that total. The Owner's competition itself supplies one Pagie.
Frogg Shott in Yooka-Replaylee
The remake identifies the golf attendant as Frogg Shott and keeps him behind the counter inside Black Hole in One. The familiar cap, club and formal reception area remain, while the course beyond is rebuilt around a different ball system. Step on the starting plate to summon a giant golden ball and get it moving down the opening slope. It breaks into numerous smaller golf balls, providing several candidates for the remainder of the route. The old requirement to shepherd one ball against a 2:30 clock is replaced by this supply of balls and the revised course obstacles. The remake round has no equivalent countdown visible during play, allowing time to clear the route and recover a useful ball. Its normal abilities are available from the beginning, so the original Reptile Rush and Sonar Shot purchases no longer govern access to those actions. The aim remains to send a ball into the final hole, but memorising the original timed route is insufficient for the changed layout.
Completing the Remake Course
Follow the smaller balls down the course towards the windmill and look for the Bomb Plant supplying explosive projectiles. Use its power to break the molten rocks around that section. One obstruction conceals a floor button that stops the windmill, making its opening easier to use. The area also contains enemies and rocks that can divert balls, so clearing the immediate path helps when lining up a push. Choose a ball in a useful position and guide it through the windmill's curved tunnel, using controlled nudges to avoid sending it back out of line. The route continues down another ramp to the lower section with the flag and final hole. Only one ball needs to reach that hole to complete the golf objective; the others provide alternatives when an earlier ball has rolled somewhere inconvenient. Success opens the reward Cagie on the separate platform across the end of the course. Cross over to collect its Pagie rather than returning to Frogg Shott expecting the original reception-area payout.
Other Collectibles in the Remake Attraction
Two further Pagies can be obtained while exploring the remake's Black Hole in One area, independently of completing its golf course. After clearing molten rocks near the windmill, uncover the chest containing the vapor effect that allows flight. Use it to reach the windmill's roof and inspect the sparkling treasure spot there. Buddy Slam reveals a hidden Pagie. The overhead UFO also retains a red Ghost Writer, reached by flying up and entering through its top. Avoid its attacks and strike during the vulnerable pauses to capture it and receive the remake's individual Ghost Writer Pagie. The ability to fly is useful for searching the large room as well as these two rewards, but the temporary vapor must be obtained from its source. These collectibles explain why a visit can yield more than the single prize from Frogg Shott's game. They are separate exploration and ghost-capture tasks, with their own triggers, so neither requires sinking a second ball after the golf Cagie has already opened.
