Mumbo Crates are pink boxes marked with Mumbo Jumbo’s skull symbol in Showdown Town, the hub of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. They supply vehicle components for use in Mumbo’s Motors. There are 51 regular numbered crates, including the opening tutorial, and seven additional crates connected to Stop ’n’ Swop. Use each crate’s holographic number to match it to the checklist below. Collecting a crate is only the first step: carry it with Kazooie’s Magic Wrench, place it on the pink delivery pad outside Mumbo’s Motors and speak to Mumbo to add its contents to your workshop inventory. The pause-menu total of 57 counts the seven optional crates but omits the tutorial crate; it does not mean that there are 57 regular crate locations.
Collecting Mumbo Crates
Defeating Gruntilda in Nutty Acres Act 3 adds High Grip Wheels; LOGBOX 720 Act 3 provides Floaters; Banjoland Act 4, Spring Break, provides the Spring; The Jiggosseum Act 4 provides the Scuba Seat; The Jiggosseum Act 5 provides the Laser; and Terrarium of Terror Act 5, Unpleasant Fat Oaf, provides the Horn. Floaters support surface-water travel, the Scuba Seat gives underwater access, and the Laser removes the relevant security barriers. Sound the Horn beside a Ghost Pig to clear it before lifting the guarded crate. Some crates can also be reached on foot before the normal trolley upgrade becomes available. The three Trapdoor Tower combinations are bought separately for 10 Notes each and vary between save files; use the combination purchased in your own game rather than a fixed code from a guide.
Vehicle Parts and Body Sets
The contents listed with each crate become available after Mumbo unpacks it. A Light, Heavy or Super Body Set contains 50 of each of nine shapes in that material: Cube, Wedge, Corner, Pole, L-Pole, T-Pole, Panel, L-Panel and T-Panel. These sets are different from individual engines, seats, weapons and accessories. The optional Stop ’n’ Swop rewards are listed separately from the regular numbered inventory. Components used only by particular challenges, such as Gruntilda’s Dingpot seat, the spheres in Critics Say No, Pikelet’s police seat in A Sight for Poor Eyes and the burning torch in The Jiggosseum Torch, are outside this crate checklist.

Stop ’n’ Swop Crates
Collect the matching Mystery Egg or Ice Key in Banjo-Kazooie for Xbox Live Arcade with the same Xbox profile before looking for its crate in Nuts & Bolts. Each object activates its own marked location in Showdown Town. These seven crates contain accessories and remain separate from the regular numbered collection; the Xbox Live Arcade connection is required, rather than simply knowing the locations. Carry each activated crate back to Mumbo’s delivery pad and have him unpack it in the same way as a regular crate.
